It’s time for air travelers to be able to see, compare and buy all of their airfare travel costs when they book their flights. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is considering a new set of rules for airlines that could bring transparency and fairness back into the shopping and booking of air travel. Sign the petition and make your voice heard.
For too long, airlines have hidden fees for checked baggage, paid seats and boarding options, from millions of their customers and travel agents. Without access to full price information, consumers and travel professionals can’t comparison shop and are often forced to pay more than they expected for hidden or poorly disclosed fees.
We deserve to see, compare and pay for the total price of air travel (fares+fees+taxes) in a customer-friendly format whenever we book it and wherever we book it.
We urge the U.S. Department of Transportation to require airlines to make their ancillary fee information, including checked baggage, boarding options and paid seats, fully transparent and available so we can easily see, comparison shop and buy the total cost of our air travel (fares+fees+taxes) whenever and wherever an airline chooses to sell its tickets.
